the house of hades

Welcome to my ninth book review, today I will be summarizing the fourth book of the heroes of Olympus series: the house of hades. 

summary:

At the start of the book, Percy and Annabeth are alone in Tartarus, separated from their friends. Tartarus is a place, deity, father of the titans, and Gaea’s wife. They must find and close the doors of death to escape Tartarus and stop monsters from coming back to life. On their journey they befriend a titan named bob, his cat that he calls tiny bob, and a giant named Damasen, sadly their new friends sacrifice themselves to help Percy and Annabeth.

In the overworld, Nico and coach hedge are flying to Greece in the flying ship created by Leo, the Argo II. Their journey was not relaxing since they were getting attacked by monsters 24/7.

Leo and Hazel are also separated from the group to find the doors of death on earth. The doors are guarded by two powerful creatures, a giant named Clytius and Pasiphae, mother of the minotaur and wife of Minos.

In the underworld Annabeth and Percy make it to the doors of death, they are barely alive after their journey to the doors. On earth, Nico, frank, Jason, and piper defeat Clytius with some help from Hecate, the goddess of magic and crossroads. Hazel defeats Pasiphae with her newly discovered sorcery skills.

All 8 demigods and coach hedge are back together. They were able to close the doors of death, but with all their effort they did not close them fast enough, some of the giants were able to go through to the mortal world. Knowing that the giants will go straight to Gaea, the demigods sail to Greece to find the goddess in Athens. Their final battle against Gaea will take place in Greece in the next book.

opinion:

The house of hades has a total of 597 pages and 78 chapters, it's the longest book of the series and somehow my shortest summary. this book is my favorite of the series, it was very entertaining. my favorite and least favorite part was Annabeth and Percy being stuck in Tartarus because it was a rollercoaster. Bob and Little bob were my favorite characters, my least favorite characters are Tartarus and Gaea obviously.
